General

The basics about LiftLogic.

LiftLogic is a free fitness tracking app for iOS that helps you plan, track, and optimize your workouts. With over 400 exercises, intelligent workout planning, Apple Watch integration, and advanced progress tracking, LiftLogic is designed for everyone from complete beginners to advanced athletes.

LiftLogic is currently available on iOS (iPhone) via the App Store, and Apple Watch as a standalone watchOS app for tracking workouts directly from your wrist.

Yes — completely. As of version 4.2.0 every feature is unlocked for everyone, with no subscription, no paywall, and no in-app purchases.

Download LiftLogic from the App Store and follow the onboarding process. You'll be asked about your fitness goals, current fitness level, available equipment, and preferences to personalize your experience.

Workouts

Tracking, planning, exercise library.

There are several ways to start a workout: Tap on any workout in your list and press "Start Workout", use the Apple Watch app to start workouts from your wrist, let LiftLogic auto-generate a daily workout based on your preferences and recovery status, or create a custom workout and start it immediately.

LiftLogic supports four primary workout types: Muscle Building — also called hypertrophy (moderate weight and reps), Strength (heavier weight, fewer reps), Endurance (higher reps, lighter weight), and Cardio (running, cycling, rowing, and other heart-pumping exercise).

You can organize your exercises using: Straight Sets (traditional training with rest between exercises), Supersets (two exercises performed back-to-back with no rest), Circuit Training (multiple exercises performed in sequence with minimal rest), and Continuous Training (cardio-focused training without structured sets).

Yes. LiftLogic supports running (outdoor and treadmill), cycling (outdoor and stationary bike), rowing, swimming, elliptical, stair climbing, and many more. Cardio workouts sync automatically from Apple Watch and Apple Health.

LiftLogic automatically backs up your workout progress. If your workout is interrupted, you can resume it within 24 hours from where you left off. The app will detect the incomplete workout and ask if you want to continue or start fresh.

Yes. You can set custom rest periods for each exercise, and LiftLogic will track your rest time automatically. You'll receive notifications when your rest period is complete (if you have notifications enabled).

Over 400 pre-built exercises covering all major muscle groups and movement patterns. The whole library ships inside the app, so it is there instantly with no download and works with no signal. Most exercises include an animated demonstration, step-by-step instructions, muscle group highlights, equipment needed, and difficulty ratings.

Yes, and it is free for everyone. Create custom exercises with a name and instructions, target muscle groups, equipment required, difficulty level (skill and strength), rep type (repetitions, time-based, or distance), and movement patterns and characteristics.

Progress

Stats, personal records, exports.

LiftLogic tracks comprehensive metrics including exercise-specific data (weight, reps, time, distance, sets completed), workout metrics (total duration, calories burned, exercises completed), personal records (PR tracking for weight, reps, and volume), body metrics (weight, body fat percentage via Apple Health), recovery metrics (sleep, heart rate variability, resting heart rate), volume tracking, and workout frequency (streaks, consistency, and training frequency).

Navigate to any exercise and tap "View Progress" to see historical charts showing weight progression over time, list of all previous sets performed, personal records, rep/time progression, volume progression, and set-by-set history with dates.

A PR is your best performance for a specific exercise. LiftLogic automatically tracks Weight PR (heaviest weight lifted for any rep count), Rep PR (most reps completed at any weight), and Volume PR (highest total volume: sets × reps × weight). When you beat a PR, LiftLogic will celebrate your achievement.

Yes. Request a full export of your data from Settings → Privacy → Export My Data, share individual workout summaries through the iOS share sheet, and read your training back through Apple Health. Comprehensive statistics live in the Stats section.

Apple Watch

wristware features and sync.

No, Apple Watch is optional. The iPhone app is fully featured on its own. However, an Apple Watch enhances your experience with workout tracking directly from your wrist, heart rate monitoring during workouts, quick glance at today's workouts, and set and rep tracking without pulling out your phone.

The LiftLogic Apple Watch app includes viewing today's scheduled workouts, starting workouts from your watch, logging sets, reps, and weight, tracking rest time between sets, real-time heart rate monitoring, and workout completion and summary.

Yes. Workouts sync in real-time between your iPhone and Apple Watch. You can start a workout on your phone and continue on your watch, or vice versa.

Yes. Once today's workouts have reached your watch, you can start and log a session with your iPhone out of range — the watch shows "iPhone not reachable" and keeps going. Your sets sync across the next time the two are connected.

Yes. LiftLogic integrates with Apple Health to import workouts from Apple Watch, sync body weight, sleep data, heart rate, HRV, and active calories, export your LiftLogic workouts to Health, and calculate recovery scores based on health metrics.

Recovery

Recovery score, sleep, heart rate.

Your recovery score (0-100) is calculated from your last night's sleep duration, Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measured against your own baseline, and Resting Heart Rate (RHR), all read from Apple Health. It refreshes as new health data arrives. A higher score means you're ready for intense training; lower scores suggest lighter training or rest.

LiftLogic imports sleep data from Apple Health, which can be tracked via Apple Watch sleep tracking, iPhone sleep tracking, or third-party sleep apps that sync to Health.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measures the variation in time between heartbeats. Higher HRV generally indicates better cardiovascular fitness, good recovery status, low stress levels, and readiness for intense training. Lower HRV can indicate insufficient recovery, high stress, overtraining, or illness/fatigue.

When enabled, LiftLogic adjusts your daily auto-generated workouts based on your recovery score. If you're well-rested (high sleep quality, good HRV, low resting heart rate), you'll get more intense workouts. If you're under-recovered, LiftLogic will suggest lighter training or active recovery.

Planning

Routines, rotation, progressions.

Workout routines are repeating workout schedules. You can create a routine and set it to repeat every day, every week (specific days), every 2 weeks, every month, or custom intervals. LiftLogic will automatically schedule these workouts for you.

A routine holds your workouts in order and rotates through them. Finish one and the next becomes today's session. Miss a day and nothing breaks — the rotation simply picks up where you left off, so a skipped session never knocks your week out of sequence.

Progressions are structured paths to achieve advanced skills. For example: Push-up → Decline Push-up → Pseudo Planche Push-up → Planche Push-up. Each progression includes target reps or time for advancement, supplementary exercises, training recommendations, and step-by-step instructions.

Yes. Enable "Auto-generate workouts" in your preferences, and LiftLogic will create a balanced daily workout based on your available equipment, preferred workout duration, workout type, training scheme preference, muscle groups that need attention, and your recovery status. Since version 4.3.0 this is built entirely on your iPhone, in seconds, with nothing sent to a server, so it works with no signal at all.

Retired features

Things LiftLogic used to do.

It has been retired. The trainer-client tools — client management, workout assignment, invoicing and Stripe payments, client schedules and notes — were removed in version 4.0.0 so LiftLogic could focus entirely on the core training experience.

The feed, following and the community surfaces were removed in version 4.2.0. Sharing a workout now goes through the standard iOS share sheet, so you choose exactly where it goes and nothing is posted publicly by default.

Multi-week programs were retired in version 4.0.0. Repeating routines and exercise progressions cover the same ground with far less setup, and auto-generated daily workouts adapt to your recovery instead of following a fixed script.

Cloud AI chat was removed in version 4.2.0 as part of making LiftLogic free and local-first. Voice logging still works, and it now runs on your device.

It was retired in version 4.3.0. Photographing a meal meant sending the image off your device to be analysed, and the estimate was never as reliable as the alternatives. Barcode scanning, food search and typing a meal in yourself are all still here, they are faster, and they work with no signal.

On your iPhone. As of version 4.4.0 every photo and video you add, journal shots, workout verification photos, your own exercise clips and your profile picture, lives on your device and syncs through your own private iCloud. Photos you added before that update are copied onto your device automatically the first time you open the app.

Because the email was not earning its place. Digests, milestone mail and "we miss you" nudges have all been switched off, and a few of those had started reaching people who were training four times a week, which is the opposite of encouraging. Anything the app needs to tell you, it now tells you in the app.

The connection that let an outside AI assistant read your training data has been retired. It worked by reading a copy of your data on our servers, and since version 4.2.0 your training lives on your device and in your own iCloud instead — so there is no longer a server-side copy for it to read.

Billing

Pricing, refunds, cancellations.

Nothing. LiftLogic is completely free as of version 4.2.0 — there is no subscription, no paywall, and no in-app purchases. Every feature is unlocked for everyone.

Everything. Unlimited workout tracking and creation, custom exercises, all 400+ exercises with demos, progressions, advanced statistics and progress tracking, recovery-based workout generation, routines, Apple Watch, and Apple Health sync. There is no locked tier to upgrade to.

Everything you paid for is now free, permanently, for everyone. If you still have an active subscription, cancel it through the App Store so you aren't billed again: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select LiftLogic, and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep full access to the app either way — thank you for supporting LiftLogic when it wasn't free.

LiftLogic no longer charges for anything, so there is nothing new to refund. For a past subscription charge, requests go through Apple: visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the LiftLogic charge, and select "Request a Refund". Apple reviews and processes refunds according to their own policies.

Support

Troubleshooting and contact.

iPhone and Watch talk to each other directly, so the fix is usually about the pair, not your connection: 1) Keep the two devices near each other, 2) Toggle Bluetooth off and on, 3) Force quit and reopen LiftLogic on both, 4) Check the Watch app shows "Connected" rather than "iPhone not reachable", 5) Restart both devices. For history syncing between your own devices, make sure both are signed into the same iCloud account with iCloud Drive on.

To fix Apple Health sync issues: 1) Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy → Health → LiftLogic, 2) Ensure all relevant permissions are enabled (Sleep, Workouts, Heart Rate, etc.), 3) Open Apple Health and verify data is being recorded, 4) Force quit and reopen LiftLogic.

Recovery scores depend on data from Apple Health. Ensure your Apple Watch is tracking sleep automatically, heart rate data is being recorded, HRV measurements are available (requires Apple Watch with ECG), and you've worn your watch consistently for at least a few nights.

The exercise library itself ships inside the app and always works offline, but the animated demos stream in. If one is missing, check your internet connection, try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular, or force quit and reopen the app.

Reach us in-app through Settings → Feedback, or by email at support@liftlogic.fit. LiftLogic is built by a solo developer, so there are no set support hours, but we aim to respond to everything within 24-48 hours.

Yes, and as of version 4.2.0 it is more private than ever. Your workouts, records and history are stored on your own iPhone and sync through your personal iCloud account — not through our servers. We never sell your personal data, and analytics and ad-attribution tracking were removed entirely in 4.2.0.

Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This is permanent and cannot be undone: your account and everything associated with it is removed from our servers, and the copy held on your iPhone is cleared as you are signed out.
